Back again...
It has been one series the 'mighty' Australians would like to forget in a hurry. Nothing went right for Punter and his men since they let slip a good opportunity at Bangalore. They have been forced to play 'catch-up' which is something they are not used to.
The batting does look solid but the bowling appears toothless. The retirements of the legends Warne and McGrath has left too big a hole for the champion team to fill. No replacements have appeared on the horizon, apparently. Will the world champs be able to rebound from this 2-0 loss, remains to be seen.
On the other hand, the Indians, who have been more than a match to the Aussies in the last decade or so, have stamped their authority with a memorable series win. It remains to be seen in M S Dhoni, who has taken over the mantle from Kumble, will take the forward and to the number one ranking.
